Warrior Con is the premier gathering of individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease, bringing together warriors, caregivers, advocates, healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, community leaders, and industry partners to learn, connect, lead, and inspire.
This year's theme, "Legacy in Action: The Next Move," builds upon the Sickle Cell Consortium's ongoing celebration of leadership and legacy. It recognizes that leadership is not static - it moves, breaths, and keeps moving forward. True leadership requires vision, strategy, collaboration, and the courage to take action. Like a game of chess, every move matters, and every person has a role to play in advancing the mission.
As we commemorate the 13th Annual Sickle Cell Warriors Convention and celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Leadership Summit and General Assembly of Warriors, Caregivers, and Community-Based Organizations, we honor the leaders who have paved the way while empowering the next generation to shape the future. From advocacy and education to research, policy, and innovation, the progress of the sickle cell community has been driven by individuals who understood that meaningful change happens when people move together with purpose.
This year's convention embraces the belief that every warrior, caregiver, advocate, clinician, researcher, policymaker, and partner is an essential piece on the board. Each contributes unique strengths, perspectives, and experiences that help move the community forward. The Annual Sickle Cell Warriors Convention is the premier national gathering of the sickle cell community, drawing together individuals living with sickle cell disease (also known as “warriors”), caregivers, advocates, researchers, healthcare providers, and nonprofit leaders from across the country. This event serves as the heartbeat of the Consortium’s mission - uniting lived experience with research, policy, and care through education, empowerment, and connection. Held each summer at a destination venue, the convention offers a dynamic and family-centered environment where warriors of all ages and their support networks find both valuable resources and deep, authentic community. The Convention is more than a conference, it’s "A Sickle Cell Family Reunion" designed to celebrate the deep, unbreakable bonds that form within the sickle cell community. Whether you are a warrior, caregiver, sibling, parent, advocate, or health ally, this event is your space. Your family. Your reunion.
